Building collaboration with European child rights and family organisations (WG3)

Share

As part of its work on the links between parenting leave, children’s well-being and social sustainability, Working Group 3 (WG3) of the Sustainability@Leave COST Action has actively reached out to European and international organisations working on children’s rights, child well-being, early childhood, family policy and social protection.

The aim of this outreach has been to strengthen dialogue between researchers and organisations working directly with children and families, share the Action’s findings, and explore opportunities for continued exchange and future collaboration. A number of stakeholders expressed interest in remaining connected with the Action and receiving its research updates and newsletters. Among the organisations and institutions engaged through WG3 are Eurochild, UNICEF, the WHO Regional Office for Europe, COFACE Families Europe, the International Step by Step Association (ISSA), the European Commission, the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), and the OECD, alongside experts working on children’s well-being, early childhood education and care, longitudinal studies and family policy.

These contacts help ensure that the Action’s research on parenting leave is connected to wider debates on children’s rights and well-being and that relevant stakeholders are informed about the Action’s activities and results.Through this stakeholder outreach, WG3 established direct communication channels with key European and international organisations concerned with children’s rights, child well-being and family policy, creating opportunities for future collaboration and for the dissemination and uptake of the Action’s research.
